As a division, we provide a wide range of programs, services, and opportunities for students to learn and develop. The Impact of our work is far-reaching.
The Division of Student Affairs has over 950 student employees including fitness instructors, office assistants, lifeguards, resident assistants, program coordinators, and a variety of other positions.
Each year, Dr. Whitely hosts various lunches with Board of Trustee members and various student groups to get their perspective on the UM student experience.
Thousands of students engage in community service in the Greater Miami Community made possible by our Butler Center for Service and Leadership. In the past, UM students have completed over 150,000 community service hours in just one year!
Students involved in Greek Life make tremendous strides in raising money for the Miami community through their philanthropic efforts.
Alternative Spring Break sends 150 students to 16 communities to engage in 6,000 hours of direct service across the USA during the fall, winter, and spring breaks every year.
Students can participate in several cultural celebrations including Black Awareness Month, Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, and Native American Month.
LGBTQ students can find resources, programming and support from professional and student staff at out LGBTQ Student Center.
2,000 students access the Herbert Wellness Center daily.
Over 3,000 graduates walk across the stage at Commencement thanks to the direction and volunteers from Student Affairs.
